I know out there there are churches that help people. It is sad, however, that there are also many that don't.Lita Wrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00224182454954971466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-246437973827092428.post-57963104658901839032008-07-14T03:06:00.000-04:002008-07-14T03:06:00.000-04:00There is a danger in us all in being a little too ...There is a danger in us all in being a little too critical of the established and making that our job and forgetting what OUR mission is about. I don't think I'm ready - I went to some meetings a few weeks ago and I was ready to bolt through each service - was asking God to protect my heart and mind while there and got angry at the religious attitudes... Hmm... I guess I have a way to go - when I think of my ex-pastor and of going to visit that church, I have a strong desire to either pop him one right between the eyes with my knuckles... of stand up in the middle of service a boo... ;-)Jeannette Alteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06574051760314762024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-246437973827092428.post-12445772781471384972008-07-11T02:40:00.000-04:002008-07-11T02:40:00.000-04:00Hm. I guess if I did, I'd only throw cotton balls so I didn't damage anything, but it would still make a mess. It's the sentiment, ya know?Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01067954787472463337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-246437973827092428.post-53769752657034464112008-07-10T16:10:00.000-04:002008-07-10T16:10:00.000-04:00Looks like healing to me. I agree with you that it would be best if a person actually knew a Christian that they could go to for help.Fred Shopehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05993039629949819266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-246437973827092428.post-38478795411911255182008-07-10T14:18:00.000-04:002008-07-10T14:18:00.000-04:00Yes, I would say you are healing. I do agree with...Yes, I would say you are healing. I do agree with Adam's comment, though -- the number of people who seek out the church is dwindling.

The problem I have with the new building (or most old ones) is that it tends to keep Christians busy and boxed up. Hospitals are great, but if they aren't accessible, or people don't know that's where to find help, there has to be another approach that brings health care to the community. There are a lot of very effective, lower cost ways to deliver the health care most of us need on a day-to-day basis. I think the same applies to the church and meeting the spiritual and other needs of the community.Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08264143140028197973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-246437973827092428.post-10867343657616853762008-07-10T13:39:00.000-04:002008-07-10T13:39:00.000-04:00Wow, good for you. It's been four years now and I still want to overturn tables.

I find it is easiest to be nonjudgmental while pretending they don't exist anymore ;)Tyler Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17021870354703680808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-246437973827092428.post-20208715226062013922008-07-10T13:12:00.000-04:002008-07-10T13:12:00.000-04:00Barb, I went through something similar a few month...Barb, I went through something similar a few months ago. I went to a charismatic church for a Sunday morning service just to see if I could sit through it without any judgment rising up in my heart. I was able to, and for me it was a great day of knowing I'm truly free. It's nothing I want to be part of, but I needed to know I could go and have my heart remain in a loving, nonjudgmental state. Congrats to you! It's a big stepping stone!Tracy Simmonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17636022373370290350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-246437973827092428.post-20115236110435492942008-07-10T11:00:00.000-04:002008-07-10T11:00:00.000-04:00Sounds positive to me. Also there are some church buildings where people won't find much comfort. You know that too well though, I know.Adam Gonnermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08975190849449996353noreply@blogger.com
