Fun Saturday and Other Stuff

Happy Saturday!!! It is finally sunny and 70 degrees in PA today and i couldn't be happier. Hope some of you who thought spring would never come are finally getting some sun too.

I wanted to direct your attention to a new feature on my sidebar. It will contain posts that I find particularly thought provoking, funny or informative. Please check out those as you have time. Internet Monk (Jonah 4 Club)has been seemingly going through a change lately and the stuff that he is posting is dinamite.

Parents' Sleep Index was one of my favorites this week. She is so funny and we think that the formula to tell how tired you are when a baby wakes you up in the middle of the night just might work. How she did it at 3:00 in the morning, I'll never know. Even on my best day I don't do math.

And finally I'll leave you with a video that we have laughed at time and time again.

OK that was seriously funny. I laughed so hard at the Pearl Jam one.

As far as the guy who is suing his old church, wow, I never thought about that! Hmm...

(Kidding of course. But it's not a bad idea for some people.)

OK Barb, since you know my heart, I'm not worried about you but some others might want to strip my hide off but here goes.......
The whole Rick Godwin thing. It's kind of a he said/she said thing. You know I don't spend a lot of time on the computer but this really bothered me, so I spent 2 hours reading about it. What I found is that opinions are like behinds...everyone has one. We have no idea what is going on at that church. We do not know what is going on with their finances. We might think we know but we don't. Here's an example. I few years ago, one of the guys at our church suggested that the church do something for my husband. You have to know that he was at church setting up/taking down/band practice/worship leading/ect...all the time. Some weeks, he was there more than he was at home. For that matter, so was I. We didn't mind, we loved it and felt it was what we were supoose to be doing. Anyway, Keith was given about $1000.00 for a new electric guitar that he loved. What some people might not have known (although I think that they may have said at church) was that that money was given by an individual specifically to buy that guitar for him as a thank you for years of service. If I checked the church records, would that be known? I have no idea.
So my challenge is this... Don't let your hurts cause you to judge everything through a "pain filter". We all know from personal experience that things are often not as they appear, especially when it comes to newspapers which sometimes print truth, sometimes half-truth, sometimes un-truth.

Just my opinion,
BF

As always, you're right! I cannot say I'm proud of this man when I actually know nothing of him or his heart. I am taking my hurt and applying it to him and his wife and their situation. Whether or not Godwin is an abusive pastor is not mine to decide. People around him will have to determine that. And...someone really, really smart always says, "It will all come out in the wash."

And I went ahead and took that part out.

Thank you for the link! Love that video -- hilarious! I'm also cracking up about Jim's comment. F = "faithful" indeed. I'll have to remember that one.
