We put it up on the market today. It is just so hurtful still to be here, we love Florida, it is Marshall's home, it is a good time to build down there, I love the water....
On the flip side we wonder if it is the right decision, we do have good friends here, the boys like their schools, mom is happy in her attached apartment....
What does God want? Does he care one way or the other? When He said we could leave the old church did he mean we could leave State College?
House for sale. Says a lot.

I saw that on FB. I'm jealous in a way...making a big transition, living somewhere warm...don't know what the future holds, but I'm sure you have thought about it thoroughly.
Wish you all the best!
Hi Barb, What happened between the previous post and this one? I'm a little in the dark.
God bless :-)
I was actually in Florida when I wrote the last post on Family. We looked at each other this spring and realized that Marsh, especially, felt very stuck here. It is so painful to run into people in our little town that simply hate us for no other reason than we left our pastor and his family and the church. They don't just ignore us, they are visibly angered at our presence. Everywhere we look there are reminders of what once was.
As we re-entered the State College area on our way back from our month long vacation in FLorida, I simply cried all the way back into town. It took me by surprise but it all came flooding back. Watching out for certain makes of cars, passing houses of friends who have deleted me from even facebook, wondering if it is safe to go into a store without a chance meeting, not being free to sit in certain coffee shops because they are frequented by my friends....
So we are seeing if there is an open door to leave. We fixed up the house a bit, put it on the market yesterday and are planning on building a wonderful house in Fla where Marshall is from.
Mostly we are just tired and still hurting so much. We thought 3 and a half years would feel much better.
Good for you. Isn't a journey another name for regular movement. Don't be afraid, you'll find your way.
Wow Barb ~ I hurt for you. I hope that there is some good in your future. I am in awe of your patience. I would never been able to keep my mouth shut
Okay, crap. That's just sad. We've been lucky in that most of our friends left as well and those who still attend has no problems with us who left.
Reading your story makes me very depressed and unfortunately a little angry. I simply cannot understand why our christian family can be so narrow minded. We, who are loved. Love only those that believe the same as us, seems to be the general motto.
The church, it seems, still have to learn a lot from the One who called Himself our Friend. Friendship is not rocket science dammit!!
Oh well, may you experience the peace and love of your Best Friend in this time of change and I'll pray for the healing of wounded hearts.
love from this side
Hi Barb. Any updates on the house sale? Reading your blog reminded me of the experience you described when you parted company with the former church, where you were rejected but had to wait until you were released several weeks later.
Greg, nothing yet. Not even a showing. We are in a holding pattern but this time I don't really mind if we stay or go. Thanks for asking though! I'll post something if somehow we make any major changes.
Very sad to see the sign in the yard. Praying for your happiness whether you stay or go. Seldom a day goes by that I don't think about you and Marshall and smile fondly at old memories. We're in GA. Not to far from FL...
We miss you guys.
